RED BULL / SONY JUMP & FREEZE – 1 September, 2018
Scraping ice off the man-made entry, Pierre was a little “happy” (not!) to imagine what it would be like in this Jump and Freeze event at The Remarkables. He was however, more than happy to jump straight after into the hot tub! Great to see the Sony organiser also being “first up” and using the yooner too!!!
YOONER DEMO DAYS at THE REMARKABLES & CORONET PEAK
Our Aussie “Wallies” having their first go on a yooner! They found it was super-easy to carve. Easy to control speed, or go at a great rate of knots if they wanted a real thrill. No lesson needed. Just a few simple safety guidelines and they were off. Thanks to The Remarkables for hosting us on Sunday 19 Aug and again in September and to Coronet Peak on Sunday 26th Aug. BASTILLE DAY ON THE SLOPES – Event ideas
Treble Cone – one of our local mountains – was the place to be for Frenchman Pierre to hit the slopes on Bastille Day and start his own little “revolution” on the mountain role-modelling yoonering as a great new ski thrill! Thanks to the Wanaka Sun for helping us out!
Mountain resorts – How about we get all “frenchy” next Bastille Day and have inter-field Bleu Blanc Rouge event to celebrate all things French? – croissants, vino and some yoonering!
ASPIRING AVALANCHE DOGS AUCTION – 2018-2021
Being sponsors of Aspiring Avalanche Dogs, we, of course, said a big OUI< OUI, We’ll be there!” to the AAD’s auction to raise funds for their charitable trust and their job work. Their work is so necessary and we are committed to helping them out. TSL has a rescue division – with a fabulous avalanche/search and resucre bag – something that will really help our NZ Mountains and SAR have quicker and more successful procedures to find people.
NZ MOUNTAIN FILM AND BOOK FESTIVAL 2018 – 2019
Wow, what a fabulous NZ Mountain Film and Book Festival it was last year filled with adventure-loving, risk-taking, nature-adoring people doing crazy cool things. And in 2018 we’re back sponsoring this event and having our stand showcasing the Yooner, our snowshoes, poles and other cool stuff. This year’s dates are Wanaka June 29 to July 4 and Queenstown July 5 to 7, 2018. See you there!

WANAKA SKI AND SNOWSPORTS CLUB – RACE YOUR MATE SLALOM
What a beautiful welcome we received one day when the Wanaka Ski and Snowsports club caught our eye and invited us to join their Race your Mate slalom event! Of course, we were in, snowboots and all! Unlike skiing, the Yooner “levels the playing field” as it’s so easy, safe and fun to use. The club organises masses of events and competitions on the slopes, but let’s not forget the Friday night drinks at Jack Rabbit, Wanaka in the winter season. Next Race your Mate events – Sat 28th June at Cardrona and Sat 14th July (Bastille Day) at Treble Cone.

SPORT & RECREATION – HAVE A GO DAY!
A great day spent at the new rec centre in Wanaka. Locals (aka Tramping Club and Snowfarm) were particularly attracted to the TSL snowshoes and feedback is “sturdy, strong, quality, colourful…” All what we like to hear! Also check out the new flexi snowshoes in our catalogue for next season! While you’re browsing the catalogue, check out the boots that go in the snowshoes. (+ poles of course) Pierre just got some new boots and adores them!
DRESS UP in COSTUME DAY at Treble Cone & guided snow-showing treks.
Second-to-last day at Treble Cone and Pierre and 2 French friends had a blast competing in the Wanaka Ski and Snowsport Club Race your Mate event. A bit slushy, but they got some amazing footage with go-pros and a super camera. Shame Pierre didn’t wear his “lion” onesie!!!
In 2018 Treble Cone will be offering guided snow-shoeing tours with our TSL snowshoes. Can’t wait to also see other mountains offering this!
NZSIF (Ski Industries Federation) SNOW SHOW – Queenstown 18-20th Oct.
We are happy to be the welcoming stand again showcasing our yooner, snowshoes, poles plus our new TSL rescue avalanche gear. A “bonjour” is what you’ll get from us as we are always delighted to meet retailers, wholesalers, mountain folk and some great families with skiing and snowboarding legends. In June 2018, we also were invited to the NZSIF and Snowsports NZ evening to welcome home our Olympic and Paralympic snow-legends.
